Corona Virus/Covid-19

Corona Virus/Covid-19

March 18, 2020

In light of the coronavirus pandemic I, Scott Johnson as Sodus Town Supervisor am issuing a declaration of a state of emergency in the Town of Sodus. The declaration will be effective at 12 p.m. on March 19, 2020. This declaration will ensure that the Town has all available options open to it in this unprecedented human health emergency.

It is absolutely necessary that Town residents take the precautions recommended by federal and state health officials to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including washing your hands, practicing social distancing and, most of all, staying home as much as possible, so that we can protect our most vulnerable residents and ensure the continued availability of medical help for those that need it

For the safety of Town residents and Town employees, Town facilities will be closed until further notice. In addition, the Town's Recreation program will be suspended indefinitely.

Please be assured that the most Town officers and employees are working remotely to continue Town business. Any issues that need to be addressed in person, please contact the Sodus Town Clerk Lori Diver at 315-483- 6934 or 315-396-9428 for further instructions.

The emergency orders will be reviewed often and the Town will update information on our website for our residents as appropriate.

The Town would also like to publicly thank all its residents working in critical jobs that are not able to stay home. We appreciate all your sacrifices in this difficult time.

Thank you,

Scott E Johnson
